We celebrated my beautiful friend, Lori's 40th birthday at the Montage in Cedar Falls. Salmon, souffles, and a little white wine helped set the mood for a great evening with friends. These women were tremendous volunteers when I was the director of children's ministry at church. . . and quickly became dear friends. Lori is a woman of strength and loyalty, and has faced adversity with humor, advil, a little wine and a lot of grace. My life is absolutely enriched because of her. My friends turning 40? I am still not sure I am ready to accept that. . .

i'm so flattered to be "featured" on your blog, although i could find you a more flattering picture. i mean look at those roots! and to think i thought i looked cute that night. ha! i won't make you take it down, but can i choose the picture next time?
