my heart is melting. how darling. i can feel his pain. i have some pain of my own - yep, would you believe the weekend was cut short AGAIN?! there's a big storm coming!
"The capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention." Julia Margaret Cameron
The everyday. The swish-swish of the diaper clad toddler running in his footie pjs yelling, "mama!" The smell of popcorn and the sound of laughter coming from the family room as America's Funniest Videos plays reruns for the 100th time. The smell of lavendar on a newly bathed baby. The trails of sand through the house on a hot summer day that represent health, warmth and fun. The hushed good nights as silence envelopes the house and those you love most are securely tucked away for this moment. The everyday. In order for me to appreciate it, I need to recognize it. In a world that is enamored with all that is glitzy and glamorous, this is our attempt to remind ourseleves of the everyday and the art of appreciating the beauty it holds.
